Job Details

The Department of Chemistry and the Center for Photochemical Sciences at Bowling Green State University invite applications from outstanding individuals to fill an interdisciplinary tenure-track Assistant Professor position at the interface of biochemistry and the photosciences. Minimum qualifications are: a doctoral degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline (e.g., Photochemical Sciences, Biophysics), research experience in a biochemically related field that contributes to the Photochemical Sciences doctoral program, one year of postdoctoral research experience, and a demonstrated record of research productivity as evidenced by multiple peer-reviewed journal publications. Preferred qualifications are: two years of postdoctoral research experience, and a plan of research that complements the research of other Center faculty, particularly in the field of bioinorganic chemistry, and prior experience teaching lectures or labs.

The successful candidate will provide instruction in the undergraduate biochemistry and the graduate photochemical sciences curriculum, develop a vibrant research program with a high level of scholarship, sustained through external funding, and provide service to the department, college, and university, as well as to the profession.
