Description: Full-time lecturer with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to work cooperatively with faculty and teach undergraduate inorganic chemistry courses to a diverse student body. Teaching assignments will include undergraduate lecture/laboratory chemistry courses for majors and non-majors. Additional teaching assignments may include upper division lecture/laboratory courses in area of specialization. This is an academic year appointment with the possibility for annual renewal.


Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in chemistry, or closely related discipline is required. ABD may be considered if dissertation can be completed within the first year of the appointment. Must be able to teach lower and upper division inorganic chemistry courses. Demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduates from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds, including first-generation students.


Preferred Qualifications: Record of undergraduate teaching success.


Compensation: Salary range is $4,530 - $13,797; commensurate with experience and qualifications. The CSU offers a generous benefits package including health, dental, vision, parental leave, retirement, and other benefits.

Department Information: The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry currently consists of seven tenure track faculty, seven full time lecturers and over 200 active majors. The department offers the ACS-approved BS degree in Chemistry, BS in Biochemistry as well as concentrations in Food Chemistry, Management and Marketing, and Occupational Safety and Health Management. The department has strong involvement in general education and service courses for related majors.
