Key Responsibilities

  • Participate or act as a leader in the drug discovery programs, executing on program goals and strategies.
  • Carry out research on the design and synthesis, purification and characterization of high-quality drug candidates for target validation, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization projects.
  • Develop and apply innovative synthetic and medicinal chemistry problem solving skills to build structure-activity relationships.
  • Work in a team environment to design biologically active molecules and conduct SAR studies and analysis to meet the project goals.
  • Collaborate with computational chemistry group to develop structure-based target molecules for projects. Provide scientific mentorship and technical training for team members.
  • Supervise and manage external chemistry teams to execute chemistry plans.
  • Establish scientific excellence including file patent applications and publish scientific findings.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ph.D. in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or related disciplines.
  • Strong background and experience in organic synthesis (methodology, catalysis, total synthesis etc) is required, along with proven track records of solving complex problems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with other members of the team in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment.
  • Prior working experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO companies is a plus.
