DePauw University is searching for an energetic and creative scientist to work within a Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry that prioritizes student learning through teaching, mentoring and research experiences. We invite applications for a tenure-track position to begin in August 2023 at the rank of Assistant Professor. Application materials should provide evidence of a commitment to successfully fostering and engaging with a diversity of ideas and experiences to create an inclusive environment in the classroom and at the University. We are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise and research bridge chemistry and biochemistry using modern instrumental approaches. The successful candidate will be qualified to teach stoichiometry, two courses in our introductory core, and at least one advanced course in an area of specialty. The teaching responsibilities include the equivalent of three courses per semester, in addition to a half-credit course taught every third year during DePauw’s January or May term. Funding is available for professional development and research with undergraduate students. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry (by the time of appointment) is preferred, ABD will be considered at the rank of Instructor.
