POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for the company’s social and environmental footprint goals and strategy, as well as day-to-day management of the company’s supply chain & project management teams.  As a member of the executive team, this role works closely with the CEO and other members of the executive leadership team, as well as the production team and the sales/marketing team.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the Supply Chain and Project Management teams.
  • Lead and manage the S&OP process
  • Manage supply chain activities - purchasing, shipping, import/ export compliance, customer service
  • Negotiate raw material and utilities contracts
  • Prepare import / export documentation (dangerous goods labeling)
  • Develop diversified sources for key raw materials – expanding domestic and foreign supplier network
  • Lead and Manage inventory cycle count program
  • Maximize working capital utilization
  • Forecast material demand for production campaigns
  • Post production material utilization calculation & reconciliation
  • Source materials for new projects or customer inquiries
  • Interface with tolling customers to schedule materials for production 
  • Oversee the input of production data in Weylchem & customer ERP systems for demand planning & shipment scheduling
  • Maintain master data in SAP
  • Oversee all customer invoicing
  • Work alongside Executive Team and CEO to develop and lead sustainability strategy
  • Execute on sustainability program initiatives, working closely with relevant team members and external stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for green initiatives.
  • Implement process or policy changes related to sustainability initiatives.
  • Supervise employees working on sustainability projects.
  • Research environmental sustainability issues, concerns, or stakeholder interests.
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of sustainability programs.
  • Evaluate proposals for sustainability projects, considering factors such as cost effectiveness, technical feasibility, and integration with other initiatives.
  • Create and maintain sustainability program documents, such as schedules and budgets.
  • Maintain operational records for green energy processes or other environmentally-sustainable activities.        
  • Develop sustainability reports, presentations, or proposals for suppliers, employees, academia, media, government, public interest, or other groups.
  • Review sustainability program objectives, progress, or status to ensure compliance with policies, standards, regulations, or laws.        
  • Work closely with production team to identify sustainable sourcing needs and manage outreach and research of new sourcing opportunities

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum five years supply chain experience in the chemical industry, preferably custom manufacturing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to plan and define scope of projects along with activity planning and sequencing, resource planning, developing schedules, and documentation
  • Ability to perform risk analysis and manage risks and issues
  • Ability to work well with and lead cross-functional teams

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Normal office environment with occasional necessity for work in plant environment both outdoors and indoor.
