Job Details
The Department of Chemistry at Marshall University seeks to fill two tenure-track positions at the assistant professor level in any area of organic chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical education starting in the Fall 2023 semester. Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D., postdoctoral or equivalent experience, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in both teaching and research. The Department expects development of an original, high-quality research program that engages undergraduate and master’s students from inception to dissemination. We seek candidates enthusiastic about incorporating research into their teaching. Teaching will be in the area of expertise and in first-year chemistry courses. The Department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University’s general education curriculum, with its emphasis on a common First-Year Seminar and core curriculum courses that enhance student’s critical thinking and the College’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study.
