Job Details

The Chemistry Department and Environmental Studies Program invite applications for a tenure-track position in the field of Environmental Chemistry beginning in August 2023.  The successful candidate will offer courses in environmental and analytical chemistry, and contribute to interdisciplinary seminars in Environmental Studies team-taught with ES faculty from history and the social sciences. The successful candidate will also contribute to the co-curricular activities and intellectual life of both the Chemistry Department and the Environmental Studies Program. Excellent facilities for teaching and research are available, including a 400 MHz multinuclear NMR spectrometer, GC/MS, triple quadrupole LC/MS, and more (https://www.reed.edu/chemistry/instrumentation.html), supported by a full-time instrumentation chemist. Reed provides faculty with generous start-up funding and lab space to support their research. A Ph.D. is required by the time of appointment; postdoctoral experience is preferred, but not required.
