The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Montclair State University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Analytical Chemistry (Open Rank) with expertise in water science and technology. This faculty member will also serve as the Associate Director of the NJ Center for Water Science and Technology. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, postdoctoral fellowship or other significant research experience, and a demonstrated commitment to teaching and working with undergraduate and graduate students. Primary teaching responsibilities will include Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, and advanced courses in Environmental Chemistry and areas related to their research expertise. The candidate is expected to develop a strong, externally funded research program and is expected to advance MSU’s research agenda and capacity in water science and technology and to serve as the liaison between MSU and government agencies and industry. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Montclair State University is seeking to fill the Margaret and Herman Sokol Endowed Chair in Chemistry. The ideal candidate will be a scientist whose research focus is in the area of Medicinal or Pharmaceutical Chemistry. The Institute supports trans-disciplinary research among College of Science and Mathematics faculty, students, and academic and industry collaborators in the areas of medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, biochemistry, natural products chemistry, molecular biology, computational sciences, environmental toxicology and pharmacology, and new emerging technologies such as biomaterials and nanotechnology. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry’s program is certified by the American Chemical Society Committee on Professional Training. It has programs leading to undergraduate degrees Chemistry and Biochemistry and has graduate programs leading to Masters Degrees in Chemistry, Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Biochemistry. While centered in Richardson Hall, the Department also has laboratory facilities in Science Hall.
