Job Details

The Department of Chemistry at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Biochemistry to begin August 2023. Primary responsibilities will include teaching biochemistry, chemistry and non-majors science courses. Other responsibilities will include supporting students through academic advising, engaging students through research experiences, and actively participating in campus life. The ideal candidate is expected to embrace inclusive pedagogy techniques intended to effectively instruct a diverse student population.

A successful candidate will exhibit excellent teaching in the context of a liberal arts education and scholarly activity in the field while engaging undergraduates in research. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, with appointment expected at a minimum rank of assistant professor. A Ph.D. in Biochemistry or a relevant field is required and post-doctoral experience is preferred.
