The Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Microbiology and Cell Biology at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana invite applications for a tenure track position at the level of assistant professor with expertise in single particle cryo-electron microscopy and/or tomography. The successful candidate is expected to develop a nationally recognized research program with extramural funding, to deliver courses in the molecular life sciences at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and to participate in professional and university outreach and service activities. The position includes access to the University’s Tecnai T-12 and Talos Arctica/Gatan K3 instruments. The candidate will join an active structural biology group with expertise in X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM, NMR and mass spectrometry. MSU maintains a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment with research programs focused in multiple areas across the molecular life sciences, including pathogen microbiology, host/pathogen interactions, metalloproteins and metals in biology, innate and acquired immunity, neuroimmunology, virology, cell and developmental biology, biofilm microbiology, environmental microbiology, biophysics, metabolomics, proteomics and materials science. A Ph.D. in the molecular life sciences or a related field is required at the time of appointment, and postdoctoral experience is highly desirable.
