Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Penn State Behrend invites applications for a tenure-line faculty position in chemistry at the Assistant Professor rank to begin August 2023 (or when agreed upon). Teaching responsibilities will include participation in the general chemistry and physical chemistry sequences, and upper-level courses relevant to the candidate's background. The successful candidate will also be expected to initiate a research program involving undergraduates, seek external funding and demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. A Ph.D. in chemistry is required by the employment start date. Candidates with interests in physical chemistry as applied to biochemistry, inorganic, organic, polymer, or materials science are particularly encouraged to apply, however all applications will receive consideration. The position includes competitive start-up funds.

Penn State Behrend, is an undergraduate and graduate college of The Pennsylvania State University. The School of Science offers B.S. degrees in biology, chemistry, mathematics, mathematics education, nursing, physics, and environmental science.
