Chemical and Biological Engineering - Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor

Job Description:
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, in the College of Engineering at Iowa State University (ISU), invites applications for the position of a full-time (nine-month) term teaching faculty at any rank.  Successful candidates will be expected to provide high quality instruction in undergraduate chemical engineering courses, including lecture and laboratory courses, as well as curriculum coordination and other responsibilities related to the teaching mission of the university such as committee work and mentoring of undergraduate students.  Candidates should have strong communication skills and share our commitment to enhancing excellence through diversity and inclusion.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related discipline and 5 years of relevant work experience. Or Master's degree in chemical engineering or related discipline and 3 years of relevant work experience. Or Doctoral degree in chemical engineering or related discipline.
  • Associate Teaching Professor candidates must also meet the university standards for appointment to the rank, including significant experience/accomplishments in engineering education
  • Full Teaching Professor candidates must also meet the university standards for appointment to the rank, including significant experience/accomplishments in engineering education

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Teaching experience in chemical engineering
  • Industrial experience in chemical engineering
  • Evidence of collaboration and leadership in engineering education

Department/Program & College Description:

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) offers B.S, MEng, M.S., and Ph.D. degree programs in chemical engineering.  CBE has an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 400 students, and it demonstrates a commitment to diversity among faculty, staff, and students who can enrich University objectives in the areas of research, teaching, and service.
