Nominations and applications are invited for the position of Chair and Professor of Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech University. The Chemical Engineering Department has a distinguished history of conducting outstanding research and scholarship and providing excellent, personalized education. The Department currently has 16 faculty members and approximately 100 graduate students and graduates an average of 90 BS students each year. The Department currently has two NAE members, and Department faculty also lead the recently awarded NSF Engineering Research Center, Center for Advancing Sustainable and Distributed Fertilizer Production ($26 M, 2022–2027). The Department is searching for a strong leader to elevate the Department to the next level.
Successful candidates must articulate a vision for excellence and possess strong leadership, communication, and managerial skills. Candidates must have an outstanding record of quality research, a deep commitment to undergraduate and graduate chemical engineering education, and a distinguished record of service to the department, university, and profession. Candidates must have a terminal degree in chemical engineering or a closely related field and be known for their achievements in their respective research field and by the chemical engineering community. Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply. Experience working with alumni, diverse student populations, and first-generation students is highly desirable. Service duties include program development and assessment, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, and university is expected. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
