FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Chemical Engineering in the Grove School of Engineering at The City College of New York (CCNY) of the City University of New York (CUNY) is seeking highly qualified candidates for a full-time tenure-track faculty position to be filled at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Outstanding candidates in any research area will be considered. The department has identified the following research target areas: (i) materials engineering, ii) renewable energy, (iii) environmental sustainability, (iv) energy systems integration, (v) bioengineering, and (vi) flexible manufacturing. It is anticipated the appointment will begin in Fall 2023.
The Department has active research programs in Energy & Environment, Materials & Interfaces, and Biomolecules & Biotechnology (https://www.ccny.cuny.edu/chemeng/research). The position would form part of the core faculty of the Department of Chemical Engineering with potential affiliation with the Levich Institute (https://levich.ccny.cuny.edu/) and/or the CUNY Energy Institute (https://www1.cuny.edu/sites/energy/).
The candidate is expected to contribute to teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and also develop technical electives related to their expertise. The candidate will also serve on committees related to administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent as noted below. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or creative achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will have a potential for building up and raising funding for a significant R&D program. Those applying for an Associate Professor or Full Professor position should have established records in research that demonstrate nationally and internationally recognized expertise.
VACCINE REQUIREMENT:
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
COMPENSATION
Contractual Base Salary Ranges:
- Professor: $83,878-$141,858
- Associate Professor: $ 67,784- $117,805
- Assistant Professor $52,267-$99, 532
Salaries above the contractual base may be offered, commensurate with experience and PSC-CUNY contract.
