At USA, you will be part of a dynamic teaching environment with the opportunity to teach courses at a variety of levels. Our majors will have career aspirations that range from landing a job at a local chemical plant to teaching high school science or to furthering their education in professional or graduate school. Over the past several years, approximately a third of our Chemistry majors have entered the work force upon graduation, a third have gone on to graduate school, and about a third have been admitted to professional schools (medical, dental, etc.).

Review of applications will begin on January 17, 2023, and continue until the position is filled.

To Apply: Please apply via submission of a single PDF file containing, in this order:  a letter of application, current curriculum vitae, copies of unofficial transcripts from all colleges or universities attended, statement of teaching philosophy (maximum 3 pages), statement of research plans and goals (maximum of 5 pages), and contact information (email, telephone, and postal mail) for three professional references. Statements of teaching philosophy should address how you plan to approach your teaching responsibilities both in and out of the classroom and laboratory as well as describe the styles in which you are comfortable teaching. Descriptions of research goals should ideally describe multiple research projects, detail how you will integrate undergraduate students in your research program, explain start-up and instrumentation requirements, and identify how you plan to obtain external support. References may be contacted at any time after an application is received, and candidates must arrange, upon request, for the delivery of official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
