The Department Chemistry at Vanderbilt University seeks a highly motivated candidate with a strong commitment to undergraduate education and a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Biology to fill a non-tenure track, instructional faculty position at the rank of Senior Lecturer for AY 2023-2024. The successful candidate will teach in lecture courses and a laboratory course within the Department of Chemistry.

This position will focus on organic chemistry instruction and will assist with teaching needs in several classes including organic chemistry, organic laboratory, and chemistry electives. The candidate will work with a team of supportive faculty to provide quality instruction to undergraduates.  The initial appointment will be for one year with the expectation of reappointment to a multi-year renewable contract, contingent upon institutional review.

Responsibilities:

Teaching a full-time load equivalent to three courses in each of the Fall and Spring Semesters.

Teaching undergraduate organic chemistry, organic laboratory, and other chemistry electives.   

 

Qualifications

PhD in Chemistry earned by August 15, 2023.

Postdoctoral research and/or teaching experience is desirable. Applicants should highlight their experience working with undergraduates and mentoring undergraduate researchers in the laboratory where possible.
