Patent Associates/Agents/Technology Specialists – Chemistry

Foley Hoag’s Intellectual Property Department is accepting applications for Patent Associates, Patent Agents, and Technology Specialists in our Boston and New York offices from chemists with an advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in Chemistry.

We seek applicants with strong academic credentials, excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Both entry-level and experienced candidates will be considered. Experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the areas of small molecules, pharmaceuticals, synthetic methods, polymer science and drug discovery would be preferred, but is not necessary.

A successful candidate who is not a registered patent agent will be expected to take and to pass the USPTO registration exam within a year of being hired.  Candidates are encouraged to review the USPTO eligibility criteria prior to applying.

At Foley Hoag, we staff our clients’ patent matters leanly, affording patent agents and technical specialists an opportunity for significant responsibility and excellent career development.
