Job Details

Position Summary. The Department of Chemistry at Gettysburg College invites applications for three one-year, full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor positions beginning August 2023. Successful candidates will be able to teach courses in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and/or biochemistry. There is also the possibility of teaching physical chemistry. The teaching load for these positions will be three courses each semester, where both lecture and laboratory sections count as one course each.

 

Qualifications. We seek individuals who have a genuine interest in teaching within the liberal arts. Candidates must have a doctorate in chemistry or a closely allied field; ABDs will be considered if the degree will be completed prior to the start date. College-level teaching experience is preferred.
