Job Details

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Texas Christian University invites applicants for the 2023 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Scholar Fellow.

The Postdoctoral Fellow is responsible for contributing scholarly work to the Department of Chemistry and TCU through research and teaching. The Fellow will lead a multi-investigator project on light-active functional organic materials based on triazine macrocycles. The Fellow will recruit a team of TCU undergraduates to design, simulate, synthesize, and characterize the target macrocycles. This will be carried out in collaboration with undergraduate research programs in modular aqueous-phase macrocycle synthesis (Prof. E. Simanek), computational chemistry simulations (Prof. B. Janesko), and OLED device fabrication (Prof. J. Coffer).

This position is part of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Scholar Fellowship Program, which is designed to recruit emerging scholars from a range of disciplines who are well prepared to use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students. The program is part of TCU’s wider commitment to promoting inclusive excellence, furthering the university’s goals for a more diverse faculty and inclusive campus.

The Fellow will have multiple opportunities to establish a record of leadership, scholarship, and student mentoring, to support a pathway to a tenure-track position. The Fellow will be asked to teach one section of an advanced undergraduate course on an area in their specialty.
