Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Hastings College invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month, Assistant Professor of Chemistry position beginning in August 2023.  The applicant is expected to have a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Education, or related field at the time of the appointment, but candidates at the ABD stage will be considered.  Successful candidates should demonstrate an excellence in teaching and will be expected to teach various levels of undergraduate chemistry courses including introductory courses and guide undergraduate student research projects. The standard teaching load is 24 credit hours/academic year, and all faculty members actively contribute to program assessment, serve on committees, advise students, and participate in professional development and service to the College. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Understanding that historical inequities have prevented students from the opportunities and rewards inherent in higher education, Hastings College is committed to wide-ranging diversity, equity, and inclusion in its campus community. It is expected that incoming faculty are prepared to engage our diverse students from a perspective of mutual respect.
