The Department of Medicinal Chemistry and the Center for Natural Products, Drug Discovery and Development (CNPD3) at the University of Florida (https://cnpd3.pharmacy.ufl.edu) invite applications for one postdoctoral scholar position in computational chemistry and biochemistry.
Besides the strength in traditional physics-based molecular simulation, the University of Florida aims to become a strong “AI” University with initiatives to build AI excellence in multiple research fronts; drug design and discovery is one of them. With donations from NVIDIA, UF’s HiPerGator AI is the most powerful Artificial Intelligence computer in higher education. In addition, HiPerGator 3 remains an excellent workhorse.
Job Qualifications
PhD (or equivalent international degree) in Computational Chemistry, Computational Physics, Computer Science, Biological Physics, Biophysics, Physical Chemistry or related disciplines required by the appointment start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in molecular dynamics simulation and free energy calculation. Experience and expertise in quantum chemistry, machine learning and deep learning are big plus. Experience in structure-based drug design is a plus. Being able to keep pace in a dynamic research environment. Independent in literature search and literature update. Capability of writing manuscripts.
