The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Seton Hall University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in any area of Chemistry or Biochemistry beginning August 2023. This position is part of a collaborative hiring effort between the Departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science and Physics in the broad areas of applied science, design and/or engineering.
The position is open to candidates proposing a multi-disciplinary research program that crosscuts chemistry and/or biochemistry with one or more of the applied disciplines:
computer science, electrical, cybersecurity, systems, materials science, bio-analysis, bio-medicine, sensors and sustainability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a highly visible extramurally funded research program, to demonstrate excellence in the teaching of graduate and undergraduate students, and possess the ability and desire to interact and collaborate with members of other departments inside and outside the basic sciences.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a terminal degree in Chemistry or related fields.
Desired Qualifications:
Candidates with postdoctoral training that shows exceptional scientific creativity and productivity are highly preferred.
