Job Details

Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry.  

The Chemistry Department at Rhodes College invites applications for a three-year visiting position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in August 2023. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field and must exhibit a firm commitment to teaching at a liberal arts college. Applications are welcome from candidates who specialize in any sub-discipline of chemistry or in interdisciplinary areas. The successful candidate must be able to teach physical chemistry and physical chemistry lab. Additionally, this person will teach four other courses per year, which could include introductory chemistry, introductory chemistry laboratory, and an advanced course in chemistry or a related discipline. Other opportunities to teach in the curriculum include a senior capstone course in the candidate’s area of specialization, and other courses that align with the candidate’s training.
