Job Description
The Department of Chemistry at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is accepting application packages for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position.  The successful candidate will teach courses that support the Department of Chemistry and School of Pharmacy. Teaching assignments will incorporate biochemistry courses; laboratories and courses at both the undergraduate and graduate (M.S.) levels, including major and service courses in introductory chemistry; and courses for the School of Pharmacy. The successful candidate is expected to engage in scholarly work in any area of biochemistry, involve Chemistry students in their research program, seek external grants to support research, and produce scholarly publications. Service activities in support of the Department of Chemistry, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the University are expected.

Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry or closely related field (or equivalent if the candidate received a degree outside the U.S.) is required at time of hire. Preferred applicants will have at least one year of post-doc or related teaching/work experience (preferred but not required).

Applicants must be capable of fostering a supportive and inclusive learning and work environment. This will be apparent through curriculum development, course content, and the incorporation of equitable classroom policies such as modeling inclusive, non-stereotypical language and using multiple methods of content delivery.
