FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Physical Sciences of Kingsborough Community College of the City University of New York invites applications for a full-time, Certificate of Continuous Employment (CCE) tracked, Lecturer or Lecturer Doctoral Schedule, beginning in Fall 2023. We seek a Chemist with expertise in the study of the sources, reactions, transport, effects and fates of chemical species in the air, soil, and water environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for instruction of courses, educational projects, curriculum development, participation in undergraduate research, advisement and mentorship of undergraduate students and serve on department and college committees.

Vaccine Requirement

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment. All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to their campus.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.

A doctoral degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field is required for appointment to Lecturer Doctoral Schedule.

 

Preference will be given to candidates whom can demonstrate evidence of potential for:

- Outstanding instruction at the college level;

- Leading undergraduates in educational and research projects;

- Developing, implementing and assessing curriculum; and

- Academic advising and mentoring of undergraduate students

COMPENSATION

Lecturer: $67,684 - $76,870.

Lecturer Doctoral Schedule: $69,665 - $77,517.

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
