The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Old Dominion University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Environmental, Analytical, or Physical Chemistry starting July or December 2023. Preference will be given for candidates whose research focuses on topics of environmental interest. Exceptional candidates will be considered at the Associate Professor level.

Successful candidates are expected to establish a funded and nationally recognized research program. Individuals selected for a position will join a growing department with a record of successful funding (NSF, NIH, USDA) in a new (2021), 110,000 square-feet research and teaching facility. In order to attract the most qualified applicants for this research expansion, generous start-up packages with exceptional assigned research space are being offered.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a specialization in Physical, Analytical, or Environmental Chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications: Postdoctoral experience, and applications from women and underrepresented minorities, are strongly encouraged.
