The Schreier Group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks postdoctoral researchers to lead research on scaling up electrochemical synthesis processes to the industrial scale, in collaboration with industry partners and the group of Prof. Shannon Stahl. The successful candidates will have a strong background in electrochemistry and/or reaction engineering, good skills in equipment design, and be able to design cells and work in collaboration with technicians to fabricate them. They must be highly motivated to pursue cutting-edge research, have a strong work ethic, and be respectful and good team players. In this role, they can expect to design some of the most advanced systems to scale-up chemical production using electrochemistry and work on a project in collaboration with multiple industry partners, and have the option to participate in the creation of a business venture. They will be embedded in the US chemical industry and catalysis community.

 

Responsibilities: 

- Lead research on scaling up electrochemical synthesis processes to industrial scale

- Design advanced systems and reactors to scale-up chemical production using electrochemistry

- Work on a project in collaboration with multiple industry partners

 

Required Qualifications: 

- Strong background in electrochemistry and/or reaction engineering

- Good skills in equipment design

- Ability to design cells and work in collaboration with technicians to fabricate them

- Highly motivated to pursue cutting-edge research

- Strong work ethic

- Respectful and good team player

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field

- Experience with electrocatalysis, electrochemistry, interface science, electrolytes, CO2 reduction, and industrial electrification

- Interest in the creation of a business venture
