The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for two Lecturers to contribute to the research and education effort of the School of Chemistry, within the Faculty of Science at Monash. One Lecturer will lead a research program in physical and/or analytical chemistry and the other in clean energy and sustainable chemistry, with the ultimate focus being to refine and enhance the knowledge of chemistry and science. These research programs should contribute to the School’s Strategic Priorities and the University’s long-term vision as outlined in the Impact 2030 statement.

Both Lecturers will lead and participate in innovative teaching programmes, including the initiation and development of subject and course material (with the appropriate advice and support of more senior staff), workshops, tutorials, e-learning, and group teaching. They will be required to undertake year level and/or unit coordination, assessment, student consultation, and supervision and mentoring of PhD students, Postdoctoral Fellows and Early Career Researchers. The Lecturers will engage in collaboration with other research groups, establish a strong independent programme of research, and apply for National Competitive Research Grants.

The successful candidates will have a doctoral qualification Chemistry, a demonstrated track record of research achievements in the chemical sciences and a strong record of teaching experience in a tertiary environment. The Lecturers will have strong interpersonal skills and a well-developed ability to convey information in both teaching and research.

Diversity is one of our greatest strengths at Monash. We encourage applications from First Nations people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people with disabilities, neurodiverse people, and people of all genders, sexualities, and age groups.
