Job Description: An organic synthetic chemistry/radiochemistry Postdoctoral position is available immediately. The potential candidate should be an energetic, highly motivated PhD in organic synthetic chemistry. Candidate will focus on multiple-step synthesis of small organic molecules for CNS disorders and other diseases. He/she needs to conduct the asymmetric synthesis of heteroaromatic analogues to obtain the corresponding enantiomerically pure isomers from racemic mixtures. Candidate has to have experiences on HPLC, NMR, IR, MS and other spectrometric identification of organic compounds.
The candidate will receive training for conducting radiosynthesis of potential PET imaging probes and validating new PET probes in vitro and vivo. The candidate will write manuscripts for publication and progress report to PI. The successful candidate will have opportunity to access to state-of-the-art lab equipment and departmental core facilities, as well as to the great research community in one of the top medical schools in the USA.
