Job Details
The Department of Chemistry at Temple University invites applications for an Instrument Facilities Director. The Instrument Facilities Director will contribute to the research and teaching missions of the Department of Chemistry through management of its instrumentation. Primary responsibilities of the position include: monitoring and maintaining the Department’s one 400 MHz and two 500 MHz Bruker spectrometers (including cryogenic liquids); training and assisting users (faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and students) in the acquisition and interpretation of spectral data; and managing facility resources and workspaces to prioritize user safety. The Instrument Facilities Director will mentor and instruct users in the use of NMR in synthetic chemistry, both principle and practice. The Director may also aid in administration and maintenance of other Department instruments, including HRMS, LCMS, GCMS, TGA, and UV-VIS and IR spectrometers.
This position is a non-tenure track 12-month academic appointment with a renewable multi-year contract. Temple University offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits.
