The Department of Chemistry at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, invites applications for a SUNY Empire Innovation Program faculty position in sustainable materials chemistry at the level of Associate or Full Professor. Candidates with research interests in the synthesis and/or study of advanced energy materials (batteries, fuel cells, phase change materials, thermoelectrics), water purification, microelectronics, recyclable polymers and plastics, and/or CO2 capture and conversion are especially encouraged to apply. It is likely that the candidate will leverage their program to study timely and important research problems related to clean energy.

This position is supported by SUNY’s Empire Innovation Program that funds the expansion of research excellence in strategic areas through the recruitment of top faculty that are recognized leaders of their fields.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous and federally funded research program, and is expected to be committed to teaching a diverse student body at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to serve the department, university, and discipline.
