The SCHOOL OF CHEMISTRY & BIOCHEMISTRY of the GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY seeks a permanent instructional faculty member with interests in analytical chemistry. The appointment will be made at either the Academic Professional or Senior Academic Professional level. Instructional support activities will include lab course direction, the management of TAs, the development of curricula and instructional materials, and coordination amongst the faculty engaged in analytical chemistry instruction. The instruction responsibilities will be in our instrumental analysis (CHEM 3216) and quantitative analysis (CHEM 2216) courses, and first year chemistry courses. The course coverage and assessment tools will be coordinated amongst the other faculty who teach these courses. However, the pedagogical approach is at the discretion of the instructor, and we strongly encourage applicants with interests in evidence-based instructional methods and chemical education research. Academic Professionals (AP’s) at Georgia Tech are non-tenure track, academic faculty with a well-defined promotion path. Credit towards promotion can be given for prior relevant experience.
