Bucknell is a highly selective, primarily undergraduate university with a strong commitment to the broad experience of a residential liberal arts education. Our faculty have a passion for both teaching and research, and we emphasize student-centered education by engaging undergraduate students in both. The hallmarks of a Bucknell chemical engineering education include outstanding teaching, small class sizes, hands-on and experiential learning, close interaction with approachable faculty and staff, and opportunities for undergraduates to conduct research with faculty. The Department strives to create an inclusive and supportive community in which all voices are valued and respected, diverse perspectives are embraced, and students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds and identities can thrive.

The Department looks forward to welcoming, supporting and mentoring new colleagues in all aspects of their responsibilities. University-wide resources such as the Teaching and Learning Center, the Office of Sponsored Projects, the Office of Civic Engagement, and the Bucknell Center for Sustainability and the Environment, as well as generous programs for research, travel and leave support, are available to support faculty in their teaching and scholarly endeavors.
