The Department of Chemistry at Rice University in Houston, Texas seeks applicants for a full-time (9-month) Lecturer position in Chemistry. This non-tenure track position has a start date of
July 1, 2024.

The primary duty of this position is to oversee and manage evening chemistry laboratories (general and organic chemistry). The instructor will need to be present in lab during those evening sessions and will aid in laboratory preparations. The instructor will also teach evening discussion sections for general chemistry. There will be additional duties and instructional opportunities in support of the large introductory courses. Priority will be given to candidates willing to teach summer classes as sole instructor for additional compensation. This position is planned as a 1 to 2 year appointment, with the possibility for renewal, for an early career Ph.D. chemist with a primary interest in education.

A doctoral degree in chemistry or a related field and previous teaching experience (preferably at the university level) are required. We welcome applicants with backgrounds in all areas of chemistry.
