Job Details
The Department of Chemistry in the J. D. Patterson School of Natural Sciences at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Biochemistry to begin August 2024 or as early as January 2024. The successful candidate will display evidence of successful classroom teaching, scholarship and/or qualified professional experience; an authentic Christian faith lived out through personal discipleship and active involvement in a local church; support for the university’s vision, mission, and values; and a commitment to our Christian liberal arts tradition. Primary responsibilities will include teaching biochemistry, chemistry, and science courses for non-majors within the liberal-arts curriculum. Other responsibilities will include supporting students through academic advising, engaging students through research experiences, and actively participating in campus life. Additional opportunities exist for on and off campus engagements, such as research or professional development. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications and experience. A Ph.D. in Biochemistry or in a relevant field is required, and post-doctoral experience is preferred.
