Job Details
The Princeton Materials Institute (PMI) at Princeton University (https://materials.princeton.edu) invites applications for multiple positions in the general area of materials science and engineering at all ranks (assistant, associate, full professor), with a start date as early as September 1, 2024. We welcome outstanding candidates from diverse backgrounds and disciplines in engineering and the natural sciences to apply. Successful candidates will be jointly appointed between PMI and the academic department at Princeton best aligned with the candidate’s work.
All research areas within materials science and engineering are within the scope of these searches, including but not limited to: materials processing, mechanics of materials, and the development of advanced materials characterization techniques. Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering discipline, demonstrated excellence in academic research, and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students that will enhance the work of PMI and partnering departments and attract and retain a diverse student body. We strongly encourage applications from individuals who identify as members of groups that are underrepresented in science and engineering.
Candidates must complete an on-line faculty application at Application for Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (princeton.edu), including a curriculum vitae, detailed descriptions of research and teaching interests, and contact information for at least three references. We seek faculty members who will create a climate that embraces excellence and diversity, with a commitment to teaching and mentoring that will enhance the work of the University and attract and retain a diverse student body. Applicants are welcome to include a brief statement of how they would contribute to this goal with their application materials. Applications should be received by November 15, 2023 to ensure full consideration.
