Job Details
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Auburn University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Organic Chemistry. Candidates in all areas of organic chemistry are encouraged to apply. Chemical synthesis, reaction methodology development, catalysis, physical organic chemistry, computational organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, enzymatic synthesis and chemical biology are areas that align well with departmental strengths and ambitions. The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous, externally funded research program. Duties also include teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Thus, excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are required.. A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a closely related field and at least one year of postdoctoral experience are required at the time employment begins. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States at the time employee begins and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
