Position Introduction

The Department of Chemistry at Vassar College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position who will develop a vigorous undergraduate research program and curriculum in Analytical Chemistry.

Position Description

Candidates should have a PhD with post-doctoral experience; a commitment to undergraduate education; and the ability to teach Introductory Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, and the upper-level Integrated Laboratory. Opportunities also exist to develop courses in the candidate's area of expertise. Experience in electrochemistry is preferred but not required and candidates are encouraged to teach and/or collaborate within interdisciplinary programs such as Environmental Studies. Teaching load in the first year is four courses; after that it is four courses per year plus research with students or other intensively mentored work with students.
