About the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
The college is home to five academic departments: Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Geography and the Environment, Mathematics, and Physics and Astronomy. About Chemistry and Biochemistry
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (https://science.du.edu/chemistry) offers undergraduate degrees in chemistry, biochemistry and environmental chemistry and graduate degrees with specialization in analytical, biophysical, environmental, and organic chemistry and biochemistry.
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Denver seeks applicants for up to two tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning September 1, 2024, with research interests in the broad area of biochemistry, biophysical chemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, chemical biology, and related fields. The successful candidate will have a PhD and post-doctoral experience in a relevant field and demonstrated potential for leadership in their field including a record of high-impact research accomplishments. We are especially interested in applicants who have a demonstrated commitment to or experience incorporating inclusive teaching methods and/or pedagogies to effectively engage broadly diverse student populations.
The candidate is expected to establish an extramurally-funded research program that augments the research directions of the department. - Experience teaching chemistry/biochemistry at the college level.
- Standard office environment.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
While the University's administrative offices are open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The salary grade for the position is UC.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $85,000.
