Saint Louis University (SLU) is a Catholic Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, world-class academics, life-changing research, and service to the community. SLU Department of Chemistry seeks applicants with a PhD in chemistry or related field for a tenure track assistant professorship to enhance our growing academic programs and complement our existing research and teaching strengths in the fields of physical chemistry, biochemistry, or biophysical chemistry, broadly defined. Successful candidates are expected to develop an independent, externally funded research program and have a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in line with our mission: https://www.slu.edu/science-and-engineering/academ-ics/chemistry/. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2024.
Applicants should email a cover letter, CV, and research (up to three pages) and teaching (one page) statements to the attention of Prof. Piotr Mak (search committee chair) at chemsearch@slu.edu. The statement of teaching and research may also include relevant involvement in teaching and mentoring students from diverse or underrepresented backgrounds in STEM. The applicant should arrange for three reference letters to be sent to the same email. Review of applications begins on October 9, 2023 and will continue until the position is filled.
