Position Overview

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry (https://chemistry.osu.edu/) in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of experimental physical chemistry, broadly defined. Candidates interested in developing a world-class research program in any area of experimental physical chemistry are encouraged to apply. The new faculty member will join an interdisciplinary community on the main campus in Columbus, Ohio. Departmental faculty have access to state-of-the-art campus and national user facilities in areas such as electron microscopy, NMR spectroscopy, time-resolved laser science, and X-ray and XUV spectroscopy.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field is required, and postdoctoral experience is highly desirable. The position will begin Autumn 2024. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to building a culturally diverse intellectual community, in line with OSU’s Shared Values (see below).

Desired: Demonstrated excellence in innovative research, a dynamic vision of an impactful future research program in experimental physical chemistry, and a strong commitment to teaching at all levels are essential.
