The Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a full time, non-tenured, renewable faculty position in Chemistry, at the level of Industry Assistant Professor, with a start date of September 1, 2024.

An Industry Professor's primary roles are teaching, mentoring and educational innovation, and the position may also entail some administrative work and outreach. We invite applicants for an Industry Professor position whose main duties include teaching lecture and/or laboratory courses in the areas of general chemistry and/or organic chemistry. The typical teaching load is three lecture courses per semester.

Qualifications

We invite applicants for classroom and laboratory teaching in all areas of general chemistry and organic chemistry. You should be an excellent teacher. You should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related discipline. Previous experience in classroom or laboratory teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred but not required. Candidates who have recently completed a Ph.D. or postdoc and have a strong interest in teaching are encouraged to apply.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary (for 9-month) range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000.  New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
