- Applicants are sought in all research areas in or at the boundaries of chemical engineering and adjacent fields.
We are also interested in applicants working at the intersection of chemical engineering and artificial intelligence (including robotics and machine learning); the global energy transition to net zero; synthetic biology and natural products; new science and/or technologies geared toward the imaging, treatment or detection of brain cancer; and single cell spatial analysis.
- In conjunction with a new $30M NSF-funded Science and Technology Center (COMPASS) at the University of Michigan, the Department of Chemical Engineering seeks applicants at all levels for multiple tenured and tenure-track positions in complex particle systems. Candidates working at the forefront of assembly science and engineering; graph theory for materials; complex multifunctional and patchy particles; nanocomposites and nanofiber networks; biomimetic materials; chiral photonics; 3-D imaging and advanced electron microscopy; additive particle-based manufacturing / 3-D printing; and/or related areas are encouraged to apply.
We seek dedicated scholars who will provide inspiration, leadership, excellence and impact in research, teaching and service, while demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity, diversity and equity in chemical engineering.
