The College of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CCBE) of Zhejiang University (ZJU) invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks, tenure-tracked assistant professor (entitled ZJU100 Young Professor), tenured associate/full professor, or Chair Professor. The areas of expertise are open, but we are particularly interested in applicants in chemical engineering, synthetic biology, biochemical engineering, biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical engineering, energy storage engineering, material engineering, polymerization and polymer engineering, catalysis, separation processes, environmental engineering,and data mining & artificial intelligence.
Founded in 1897, ZJU has a high reputation globally and is ranked 44th in the QS 2024 world ranking. It’s beautiful campuses are located in Hangzhou, just fifty-minute high-speed train west to Shanghai. The city is a popular tourist destination with more than 4,000 years of history and scenery and has recently become a hub of innovations.
CCBE was established in 1927, the first in the ChE discipline in the country. Today, CCBE has 120 faculty members, about 500 PhD and 500 Master students, and over 500 undergraduate students. The annual research fund is over ¥250 million. CCBE remains at the forefront of cutting-edge research in basic research (8 Science/Nature papers published in the past 7 years) and engineering applications. Qualifications:
Applicants must have a PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field. The candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment and potential to excel at research and teaching in Chemical/ Biological Engineering. The candidates should have a strong record of scholarly publication and an ability to attract external research funding to support their research program, effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students. Candidates will be evaluated based on their potential to teach and conduct research in an equitable and inclusive environment.
Benefits:
Competitive salary and benefit packages will be provided. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. ZJU provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, life insurance, and housing. Startup funds for the Chair Professor position applicants are open to negotiation.

2023 Zhejiang University Chemical Engineering International Young Scholars Forum
The College of Chemical and Biological Engineering is scheduled to hold the "2023 Zhejiang University Chemical Engineering International Young Scholars Forum" on December 22th, 2023. The forum aims to provide a platform for young scholars in the field of chemical engineering, both domestic and international, to exchange academic ideas through academic presentations and discussions. The forum will be held both offline and online.
We sincerely invite young scholars in relevant disciplines from home and abroad to participate in the forum and discuss the forefront of the field, exchanging academic viewpoints.
