Applications and nominations are sought for a Lecturer / Assistant Teaching Professor position in General Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. This 9-month appointment, which begins in August 2024, is initially for a three-year term and is renewable.
Required qualifications include a master’s or doctoral degree (or the equivalent) in chemistry or a related area, and one semester of teaching experience at the college level. Preferred qualifications include a doctoral degree in chemistry or a related area, at least one year of experience teaching introductory chemistry courses, and experience in curriculum / pedagogy development.
Duties include teaching introductory chemistry courses, with the option of teaching upper-level courses (depending on the candidate’s interests and the department’s needs); and service responsibilities, such as support for departmental curriculum / pedagogy development, student advising, and serving on department and university committees.
