The Chemistry Department at Lebanon Valley College invites applicants with expertise in the area of Inorganic Chemistry, for the position of Assistant Professor of Chemistry, beginning in August 2024. Primary responsibilities are teaching sophomore-level inorganic lecture and laboratory courses and a senior-level advanced inorganic course, while also contributing to introductory lecture and laboratory courses.  Other responsibilities include advising students and performing departmental and college-wide service. This is a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track 3-year position with the possibility for renewal with in-person teaching responsibilities and required on-campus availability. The successful candidate will have access to department facilities and a dedicated laboratory space for student/faculty research.  Competitive, internal funding opportunities exist for modest support of short-term (summer/semester) projects to initiate activities, and candidates will be encouraged to seek external research funding, as internal funding is limited.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field along with postdoctoral research experience, evidence of effective teaching in higher education at the undergraduate level, and demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and intercultural competence in education, including experience serving and/or teaching students from underserved communities.
