An organic synthetic chemistry/radiochemistry Postdoctoral position is available immediately. The potential candidate should be an energetic, highly motivated PhD in synthetic organic chemistry. Candidate will focus on multiple-step synthesis of small organic molecules for CNS disorders and other diseases. An ideal candidate should have expertise in using HPLC, NMR, IR, MS, and other spectrometric techniques for characterization of new molecules.
The candidate will receive training for conducting radiosynthesis of potential PET imaging probes, preclinical validation in rodent models, and translation of lead probes for investigating pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases. For the T32 program, candidates should be either permanent resident or US citizens. The candidates will be trained to write manuscripts, grant applications, and presentation of scientific data at national meetings, in addition to individual development plans tailored to their career goals. The successful candidates will have access to the state-of-the-infrastructure, departmental core facilities, and dual-mentorship, while gaining interdisciplinary training in radiopharmaceutical sciences at one of the top medical schools in the USA.
