Job Details
The Department of Chemistry Physics and Atmospheric Sciences (CPAS) at Jackson State University in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology invites candidates to apply for a full-time tenure track faculty position in experimental organic chemistry. This position includes but is not limited to organic materials, molecular electronics, organic polymeric semiconductors, organic photovoltaic, electrolytes in energy storage, biodegradable polymers, biofuels, bioactive molecules, synthetic tissues, and catalysis. We are particularly interested in candidates who will contribute to our efforts to provide support and opportunities for students to pursue research careers in chemistry and related areas. Post Doctoral research experience is required.
Successful candidates are expected to establish and sustain a vibrant research program funded externally, serve as effective teachers and mentors at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and provide service to the department, the university and the profession. Applicants at the assistant professor level must have a promising research agenda, and a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate student education and success.
