Eckerd College is a private, coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 1,817 students, and has a tradition of innovative education and teaching/mentoring excellence. The college is situated on a 188-acre waterfront campus with over 2.5 km of shoreline on Boca Ciega Bay, with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. The new James Center for Molecular and Life Sciences opened just last year and houses the biology and chemistry departments.
