Job Details

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time lecturer position. This is a twelve-month, non-tenure track appointment with a starting date of July 1, 2024, and possible annual renewal for up to an additional two years contingent on satisfactory performance and approval of the Dean. Responsibilities in year 1 will be two courses per semester (in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and/or biochemistry), as well as supervision, mentoring and training of Teaching Assistants in support of the coursework. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Chemistry, a strong interest and demonstrated success in undergraduate teaching and curriculum development, and outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to teach a range of introductory chemistry coursework in the following areas: general chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry.
